Born in Marietta, Georgia, Erica Raver began her dance training at The Georgia Ballet under the direction of Gigi Hyatt and Janusz Mason. At the age 15, she started her training under Fiona Fairrie and competed at competitions with her, including, Youth America Grande Prix, World Ballet Competition, and Indianapolis International Ballet Competition. In 2016 at 17, Erica placed first place in both classical and contemporary categories at Youth America Grande Prix in Dallas, Texas. She has attended summer intensives under scholarship to Houston Ballet, School of American Ballet, Ellison Ballet, Boston Ballet and Texas Ballet Theater. In 2017, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend the studio company at Texas Ballet Theater for a year. At Texas Ballet Theater, she danced in the company productions of Beauty and the Beast (Rose Corps), Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker (Flower corps, Snow corps, and Clara), and Peter and the Wolf (duck). With the studio company, she performed Polska as a soloist, Waltz of the Hours from Coppelia, and act 3 from Raymonda. She also danced the lead roles for the premier of Wavelength by Andre Silva and Awakening by Dai Jiyan. Her dream role is Juliet from Romeo and Juliet. This is Erica’s first season with Rochester City Ballet.
