Born in Richland, Washington, Kelly Moeller began her dance training at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet under the direction of Debra and Joel Rogo. As a senior company member of Mid-Columbia Ballet she participated in Regional Dance America Pacific festivals across the country, performing works by Twyla Tharp, Alan Hineline and Kiyon Gaines. Kelly received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona School of Dance in 2013. During her four years she performed the Soloist in George Balanchine’s Rubies, the Principal Couple in Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante, Choleric in Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, the Exclamation Point in Sam Watson’s Punctuations.?! and the CHICAGO Suite set by Anne Reinking & Gary Chryst. Kelly had the opportunity to perform in Arizona Theater Company’s The Great Gatsby and Arizona Opera’s Abduction from the Seraglio. Kelly was awarded the Arizona Excellence Scholarship, was a three-time recipient of the Medici Scholarship and was awarded the Maria C. Mandell Memorial Scholarship. Intensive summer studies include Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, International Ballet School, Ballet Austin, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Alonzo King LINES Contemporary Ballet. Since joining Rochester City Ballet in 2013, favorite roles have included Christmas Spirit in The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Jamey Leverett’s Incantation, Jimmy Orrante’s The Ugly Duckling and works by David Palmer including Adiemus, Follow the Rose and Summer of Love. Kelly has also enjoyed teaching ballet at Rochester City School No. 4 through the after school program Quad A For Kids.
