RCB Hires Amanda Melrose-Smith

The Rochester
City Ballet is pleased to announce that Amanda Melrose-Smith has recently
joined the company as a principal dancer.
“The Rochester City Ballet continues to grow every day and we’re
so pleased to have Amanda join our company,” said Jamey Leverett, artistic
director. “She will be making her official debut with the company
in our annual production of The Nutcracker, we cannot wait for the

Two Ballet dancers are bound for Italy
July 10, 2007 - ROCHESTER, NY - (As printed
in Brighton-Pittsford Post, July 10, 2007) They’ve danced
locally and competed nationally, so naturally they’re going international.
Two Rochester City Ballet dancers are headed to Spoleto, Italy, to
take part in the 50th anniversary Festival dei Due Mondi, which began
June 29 and runs until July 15. The invitation came from Larissa Saveliev,
co-founder of Youth America Grand Prix, after the two dancers took
home top honors at the recent YAGP finals in New York City.
