Gordon Estey - Technical Director

Mr. Estey, the Theatre Operations Manager for the Academy Theatre in Canandaigua NY,  comes from a background in professional Summer Stock, having worked with Maureen O'Sullivan, Cyril Ritchard, Vivian Vance, Dody Goodman, Mickey Rooney, Leonard Nimoy and Elaine Stritch. He has been a Lighting Designer for more than thirty years and designed more than 300 productions.

Gordon is resident Lighting Designer and Technical Director for the Rochester City Ballet.  He received critical acclaim for his lighting of the Nutcracker and Cinderella. His work for RCB has been seen at the Eastman  and Auditorium Theatre’s in Rochester and for Ms. Leverett in NYC. Most recently Gordon served as co-designer of the new Nutcracker set unveiled by RCB and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra this past November at the Eastman Theatre.

Gordon has studied with designers such as Jules Fisher, Peggy Eisenhauer, Mike Baldassari, Wendell Harrington and Beverly Emmons and Richard Pilbrow.  Mr. Estey is Technical Director and Staging Supervisor for Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s annual Stars of Tomorrow Ceremony at the Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, NY.
